Water Balance Covers for Landfills and Waste Repositories: Design, Modeling, Construction, and Monitoring
This workshop is intended to teach consultants and engineers the fundamentals of water balance covers, and to teach regulators how to evaluate those proposals. The most current research on field performance and monitoring will be presented. Topics will include soil hydraulic properties, cover design and monitoring, including discussions of regulatory issues, soil physics, plant-soil-water relations, saturated/unsaturated water movement, and computer modeling. Results and lessons learned from the USEPA Alternative Covers Assessment Program will be discussed.

Landfill Tippers Workshop
This workshop is intended to take a hand on approach to Tipper operation and safety. Lead by Columbia Industries, the course is intended to instruct all operators in the proper use of operating a tipper. The step by step instruction will cover not only cover basic procedures but will instruct participants on important safety precautions.
